Spatial Order Studio uses research-
led-design and strategic analysis to

better understand a projects spatial,
social and economic context. Such a
process reveals the expanded playing
field of a project and establishes a
productive means to engage with it.

We embrace in a cyclical mode of work,
and see every project as a part of an ongoing body of
research, directed towards the production of better
built solutions.

The way we work can be distilled to four discrete
phases, each corresponding to a unique service
package for our clients:

In order to produce meaningful and impactful solutions, whether built or proposed, we must first think divergently. We embrace a collaborative, and co-creative approach, engaging the public and impacted communities to further refine and clarify a projects core problem statement.
Once the context is understood and the problem statement is articulated, we develop actionable foresight positions via proposition. Informed by our team’s experience as architects, urban planners and designers, we translate the previous phase into a series of future oriented scenarios informed by clear vision. We understand that there are no one-size-fits-all solutions, and through an intensive and systematic design approach, we seek to uncover all viable opportunities. At the end of this phase, a comprehensive and feasible project strategy, along with an approved schematic design will be produced.
Once a design direction and project strategy have been established our team further develops tactic for project execution. We do this by connecting our clients to a network of architects, engineers and construction professionals to build a team for project implementation.
At the heart of our methodology is a belief in the value of ongoing project engagement and recognizing that a project is never truly finished. We view the built environment as a constantly evolvin system and believe it essential to understand how our projects perform socially, environmentally, and economically over time. As a company we
aspire to learn by doing, and consistently undergo a reflection phase, internally. After project execution, we engage communities, and residents to generate useful data that can be used to test our hypotheses and establish evidence-based positions for future work. This phase is no exclusively internal, and we offer this information to our clients as an optional service to help ensure their future competitiveness.
